Introduction

I was a member of St. Mark's and regularly attended from the time I was old enough to attend Sunday School until I eventually moved away from the community 26 years later in 1980. During those years I had been involved in many activities in the congregation - altar boy, choir, council, Sunday School leader, etc. I had also been treasurer for the Lutheran church Camp Mush-a-Mush for 13 years in the 70's and 80's - here's a link to their web site.

I did not have any pictures of the church so following the final service I took a number of pictures not knowing what the future would hold for the building. I thought it would be nice to have a visual record of the church that could be shared so I have put up this web site with those pictures along with some taken by others and some mementoes of the church. Unfortunately, at least in the past, church was not a place where one often took pictures so I didn't have anything from past church activities, etc. to post here.

For the first year or two the site had an obsure address and was known only to a few friends and family. Then following the purchase of the building in 2009, the new owner, Jim Lindner, contacted me and began supplying pictures of the ongoing renovations. I moved it to a new web address and all of a sudden there was a lot of interest in the site. Since then some former members have searched through their files and have forwarded me numerous pictures. As a result the site grew and has been more popular than I ever imagined. I welcome any pictures, stories, etc ... anything of interest to former members and friends of St. Marks ... and I will add it to the site with appropriate credit.

With the completion of the renovations, interest has dropped somewhat but the site continues to be regularly visited. It seems to have reached a plateau where there may not be much more that I can add unless anyone has something they can send me.

If you have contact with other former members/friends of St. Marks, please pass on the link to this site to them.
